My EP-Confessions is selected for album review on I AM ENTERTAINMENT MAGAZINE !
What an amazing review!!! Thanks to I AM ENTERTAINMENT MAGAZINE !!

I AM ENTERTAINMENT MAGAZINE says:
Soulful, beautiful inflection, blatantly honest lyrics = Fang-I. I'm in love with this girl. I was immediately taken back to when I fell in love with Jewel's album Pieces of Me. It's something about a soft, sweet voice and straightforward, true to life lyrics that demand people's attention.
Fang-I reminds me of a lot of my favorite artists, Sade, Angel Taylor and Natalie Imbruglia. Her lyrical content is so relatable. I love an artist that takes the time to actually write about real life instead of just giving us fluff covered by really good vocals. This is honest and pure music.
Her falsetto voice is so divine. It sounds like sunlight shining through an open window. She knows just where to go within her range and does it effortlessly... it describes exactly how I felt when I heard Fang-I Liu; a breath of fresh air! If you're a fan of real music, great songwriting and want to hear an amazing artist, listen to Fang-I's Confessions. Sit back and let her take you on her journey.

English translation:
Through all the 5 tracks in the EP, Fang-I provides us an amazing introduction to her world. She is influenced by Fiona apple, Alanis Morissette, Tori Amos, Rachael Yamagata and also Sarah Mclachlan, Her music is more in the style of pop rock, both sensitive and powerful and full of sincerity. Her voice is charming and elegant, fits perfectly and smoothly with her lyrics. From the very good opening song, Stupid Question, to the more rock-ish China Doll, passing by the passionate Wasted, the melodic Circle or the powerful vocal on Not so bad, you'll listen to the songs with great pleasure. There is also variation in style that will not lock her up with just one genre or into a single archetype. By the way, the excellent production of the EP (thanks to Christian Klikovits andAj Oliveira) and quality of the instrumentation, provide euphonious music to the listeners because the songs are easily absorbed. This EP breaks away from the usual music, which "kill" listeners' interest. The EP portrays good pop from the early 90's and tainted with a perfect amount of mainstream. Some people would criticize her for not being in the circle of "present-time music", but nevertheless our ears will be charmed by the engaging melodies. I'm going to pinpoint on one thing though, because there is always critic (but this should stop instantly), her accent is not perfect and sometimes the lyrics are a little too simple but as a whole, this does not ruin the quality of the songs at all.
Available on CD Baby or you can digitally download them online at affordable prices. I highly recommend you to get the EP of the charming Fang-I Liu and you will understand once you got hold of it. In my opinion it is very good and full of promises in the future to come if she carries on. After reading this review, I hope you know what is left to do.

Want to know about more my feelings to my music and life??
Here comes my first interview!!!! (新訪問!)
Thank you!! Indie Music Digest!! http://www.indiemusicdigest.com/Fang%20I-Liu%20Interview.html
IMD How would you classify your music and your overall writing style?
FANG I-LIU I would say my style is basically Adult-Contemporary. Some people said I am kind of 90’s girl. I admit it cause that’s the style that I like to listen to the most. Writing is the way that I express my feelings regarding my life, some ideas are from my imagination as well but they’re really honestly. It’s easy for me to imagine it but too hard for me to fake it at the same time. Sometimes when people listen to my songs in front of me, I feel a little bit awkward as they can see through me.
IMD Who are some of your top 5 musical influences – both vocally and musically?
FANG I-LIU I will say Sarah McLachlan, Fiona Apple, Alanis Morissette, Tori Amos and Rachael Yamagata. But it doesn’t mean my style will be very similar to theirs, but they really give me a goal to create better music!
IMD What inspired you to start this band and how did it all come about?
FANG I-LIU I usually write my own songs alone. I was lucky to get those great musicians to play for me on this EP. One of the producers, Christian Klikovits; he was my teacher back in my music college. He knows the style I like and what I want to achieve for this debut EP. It was great to bring all the great musicians along to work together. I really enjoyed it.
IMD What’s the main thing you want people to take from your music?
FANG I-LIU My music is more about my weakness, emotion and inner strength. I show them through my music. No one and nothing is perfect, that’s why life is interesting. I hope the listeners can feel the upside and the downside from this EP and get some comfort from it.
IMD Could you tell us more about when you came to LA from the East?
FANG I-LIU I came from Taiwan, born from a traditional Asian family. I didn’t have any confidence in music back then. It’s hard to tell you that I didn’t really get formal music education back in my hometown. That’s why when I first had the opportunity to study in LA; I worked extremely hard and still am. Somehow I think I have proven that I could be a good musician/singer/performer, and it makes feel somewhat satisfied.
IMD What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
FANG I-LIU The first ever concert I’ve been to while I’m in the US was Green Day’s. I would say it was one of the coolest concerts I’ve been to. The sound, the tightness of the band, the messages they conveyed, was pretty awesome.
IMD Is there a song that stands out on this release as being your favorite on your latest album?
FANG I-LIU I like “Stupid Questions” most actually. It wasn’t my favorite song in the beginning, but the arrangement and the music really portrayed out all my feelings and emotion. I was pretty depressed when I wrote it, and I know a lot of women will have the same feeling as mine.
IMD How’s the music business in your neck of the woods?
FANG I-LIU There are so many great musicians and music around here, even though it’s getting harder to survive in this industry. I came from a different country and the way I write my music/lyircs are not really similar to most American pop girl bands or simply said; like an American. I try to keep the way I write original, because I think that’s what makes me special and also can bring something interesting to the music industry. I believed in the end everyone needs music, so it will never die.
IMD I really enjoyed the track “Stupid Questions” could you tell us more about that pieces?
FANG I-LIU People always become dumb when we are in love. It can be cute sometimes, but it hurts when you suddenly realize something is wrong in the so-called truth. When you asked those questions which can’t be answered, it makes you feel insecure and you’ll be searching for the right answers every now and then. The reason I composed the song because I know how does it feel and I’ve been through that road.
IMD What’s next for Fang I-Liu? Touring? Full Length release date?
FANG I-LIU I am focusing on the market in the US as well as in Taiwan. I got my songs played on the radio stations in different countries, and I hope there will be more and more people hear my music. You will also start to see more my live performances, not only in the US but also in Asia.
My music is TOP2 seller @ INDIEVOX in Taiwan!! Cheers!!

Yeah~ Confessions is The Pick Of this week @ "Indie Music Digest"
http://www.indiemusicdigest.com/Fang-I%20Liu%20CD%20Review%20on%20INDIE%20MUSIC%20DIGEST.htm

After this long journey, I am very happy to announce the release of my first EP: ”Confessions.” It is all my original music and lyrics, and these songs are all my babies and my life. The whole progress of preparing an EP definitely taught me a lot. I had to work with all sorts of different people, argued with some of them, labored over all those freakin’ long legal documents which aren’t in my native language, struggled with finding and sticking to my budget… During the worst times I found myself waiting, being depressed and lost, sometimes fretting I might piss someone off or am being annoying. But after all, we all strive to do our best to make things happen. But after I heard the music in its final form, suddenly small things maybe are not so important anymore. I enjoyed this great experience and the moments of working with all the fantastic musicians. Christian Klikovits & AJ Oliveira, you guys were my hands in this EP and my teachers/friends/partners in my life. I appreciate all the helping and seriously, I love you guys! It was a pleasure to also have Ross Bolton (guitar) and George Dum (drums) play for me on this EP. How lucky I am!
A lot of thanks to every one of you: My family, friends, teachers and all the musicians that I have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with. My words are not enough to show my love and appreciation…
I am really proud of this EP. We all put so much effort into it to making it the best we could. I promise it was worth it to have it finished and I know you will love it!
With love
Fang
Hi People come to my show !!! it will be fun!!
